Taking an overnight bus is that best way to arrive to us right now, although we’ll receive flights directly from Lima starting July 2024.

When traveling from Lima, we recommend that you book the “Premier” overnight bus to Yungay with Movil Tours, which has seats that lay flat for all-night comfort. The overnight bus usually arrives around 7am in Yungay where we will have a taxi waiting for you to bring you up to the lodge. This ride will take about 45 minutes and cost 70 soles. Movil Tours also has Trujillo-Yungay if arriving from or departing to the north of Peru.

Packing List

You should prepare to encounter all four seasons on every hike. With that in mind, we recommend you pack sunscreen, hiking boots, a wide brim hat, a rain jacket, waterproof pants, and a fleece hat and gloves in addition to your usual hiking gear. If you are visiting us during the rainy season, you’ll want to pack double the amount of clothes as the number of days of your trip in order to avoid having to rewear wet garments.
